Oman Air can confirm that flight WY 222 departing from Bangalore to Muscat was involved in an incident at 09:40 AM on 30/Dec/2025 during landing at Bangalore International Airport. 
 

The aircraft is a B737- Max/A40-MG. The preliminary passenger list indicates the aircraft was carrying 125 passengers and 6 crew members. 

  

Our Emergency Response Centre has been activated.  Oman Air is utilizing all available resources in co-operation with the local authorities in investigating the cause of the incident.

Oman Air is sorry for the incident involving flight WY 222 at Bangalore International Airport. 

  

The aircraft was a 737-MAX A4O-MG. We can now confirm that the aircraft was carrying 125 passengers and 6 crew members. 

  

Oman Air is working closely with the Bangalore Civil Aviation Authorities in providing assistance and support to families and friends of passengers and crew involved in the incident. 

  

We can confirm that the majority of passengers have been accounted and those injured have been transferred to the nearest local hospital. 

 

“We regret that this incident has happened and would like to express our heartfelt sympathy to the families of the passengers and crew onboard flight WY 222. Oman Air is sorry for the incident involving flight WY 222 at Bangalore International Airport. 

  

The aircraft was a 737-Max A4O-MG. We can now confirm that the aircraft was carrying 125 passengers and 6 crew members. 

  

Oman Air understands that this is a difficult time for families and friends of those on-board flight WY 222. They have our deepest sympathy and support. We are working closely with the local authorities to identify the identities of the passengers on board the aircraft. This is a difficult and sensitive task that will take time to process. We will notify relatives once we have been able to confirm passengers’ identities.
